A man accused of using his car to hit a woman's vehicle and then robbed her appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Senia Henderson appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Glen Brown to answer to a charge of robbery with aggravation.
After hearing the allegations, RM Brown suggested that Henderson's alleged mode of operation was a common trick used by robbers.
The court was told that the complainant was driving in the Sherbourne Heights area of St Andrew when the accused ran into the back of her car. Both parties reportedly came out of their cars and had discussions, during which the accused reportedly used a knife to hold up the complainant and rob her of her cellular phone. He then escaped in his car, which had other persons aboard.
The court further heard that Henderson was brought to the police by citizens, but the clerk told RM Brown that there was no information to suggest how he came to be accosted by the citizens. The investigating officer was not present.
