Partygoers walk out to Twisted Spiritz

Krista Henry, Staff Reporter

This patron's knee-high get up is eye-catching.

A week's delay due to the rain could not stop a rush of people coming out for Twisted Spiritz at the Palisadoes Go-Kart Track, last Friday night.

It was a youthful crowd that turned out ready to party. Inside, people were crowding the six bars, each serving different types of drinks. The twisted bar had the event's signature mixes while the regular drinks were available at the others. Food was served at the back of the venue.

the sweep

With Renaissance at the turntables playing the hits, the vibe started to really pick up after 1 a.m. Bloodline soon took over with dancing songs that had patrons trying to 'sweep'. The women had a difficult time 'sweeping' in their high heels and tight dresses, but they tried anyway.

Artistes were also out enjoying the party. The STAR spotted Sean Paul, Munga Honourable, Leftside, soca star Machel Montano, Raine Seville from DASECA and producers Russian and Jordan McClure.

A wining segment got a good response as women walked out to Pamputae and the men got ready for a Daggerin' set. The songs from the Day Rave rhythm such as Dip Again, Real Killa and others got a huge response. Coppershot followed with a hip hop and R&B segment. They teased with a little dancehall and surprised the crowd by selecting some old cartoon and TV show theme songs such as the Fresh Prince of Belair, Inspector Gadget and others. Most enjoyed the flashback and sang along.

When The STAR left after 5 a.m., patrons were still partying, while others took the cue from the selectors and left.
