Ian 'Pepe' Goodison - file
Veteran Reggae Boy defender Ian Goodison has been named the North West League One Footballer of the Year for a second straight season.
According to the club's official website http://www.tranmererovers.co.uk, Goodison narrowly beat out rivals from across the region and secured the award based on the public vote. The results of the poll were announced at the North West Football awards in Manchester on Monday night.
The player, who has been a rock solid influence in the Jamaican defensive unit since being recalled to the national squad late last year, was also named Rovers Player of the Season back in May.
Rover's boss Ronnie Moore, in taking time out to pay tribute to the defender, noted the award to be well deserved.
"It's a great honour for Ian to receive this award, especially as it is voted for by the fans," Moore said
"Ian has been superb for us over the last few seasons and he deserves his award."
