Jago crush Innswood

Laffian Lynch and Rogell Witter racked up 27 points each for St Jago in a merciless 97-46 rout of Innswood as the ISSA/KFC Southern Conference schoolboy basketball competition continued at St Jago high yesterday.

Despite being a competitive fixture in the first two quarters, St Jago began to pull away in the third and put the game beyond any doubt midway the final quarter.

Entering the fourth stanza leading 56-41, St Jago outscored a hapless Innswood 41-5 to seal an emphatic win. Lynch who also had 10 steals and 14 rebounds, scored 10 points during the period, while Witter who added 13 steals and 11 rebounds to his statistics, poured in 17. Roshane Clarke was the only player to put up any resistance for Innswood as he finished with 15 points.

In other games Excelsior, led by 25 points from Byron McHale, beat Campion 61-36, while Dunoon Technical shocked Jamaica College 48-41 behind Keneil Allen's 27 points.

Excelsior also notched another win in the Under 16 division as they got by the Campion junior team 41-30. JeVaughn Hilton top scored for the winners with 16 points.
