Fire destroyed the kitchen at the Crane Ridge Resort in Ocho Rios, St Ann, last night.

Up to news time, fire personnel were still on the scene putting out the fire. They were called to scene after smoke was seen coming from the room. Initial reports are that attempts were made by staff to put out the fire by using a fire extinguisher. However, the room became engulfed forcing them to abandoned that method.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the firefighters and no one was reportedly injured during the incident.

Efforts by the news team to get a comment from the hotel's management were unsuccessful as the telephones rang unanswered. Also efforts to get a comment from the police and fire department proved unsuccessful as when the news team called, we were told that personnel were still on the scene trying to put out the fire.
