Dear Pastor,
Can you give me some advice, please? I have been in the church for 10 years now and can't find a Christian man. The brothers in the church don't acknowledge the sisters and it's really hard. When I am around one particular brother, I have strong feelings for him but I don't think he feels the same way about me. The Bible teaches that it is better to be married than to burn. My body is burning up but there is no man to marry me.
What should I do? Please, give me your fatherly advice.
R.B., USA.,
Dear R.B.,
The brothers in the church cannot marry every sister, who is attracted to them. You will have to wait on the Lord to provide you with a good man. Some sisters get married very early, some later in life. Some never marry at all. You are eager to be married and, as you put it, you are burning up (with passion). I pray that the Good Lord will have mercy on you and send you a man, because it's only a man who can out your fire.
In the meantime, please do not do anything foolish. By that, I mean, don't throw yourself around to Tom, Dick or Harry. They may put you in big trouble. And, concerning this brother you like, I want you to know that it is not wrong to show interest in a man. But, if he does not reciprocate, leave him alone.
Pastor
