Portmore police pleading for assistance in identifying body

The Portmore Police is still pleading with members of the public to help them identify the body of a woman, who was found along Dyke Road on November 18.

The police say although they have made an appeal for information they have not received any. The body is of dark complexion, slim build and about 165 centimetres long. The woman is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old. The body was clad in a black jacket, blue and burgundy blouse and pink shorts. The woman has a tattoo of an angel on her right leg, and a red and green flower tattoo at the lower back, and a heart-shaped tattoo on the left shoulder and breast.

The Portmore Police report that at 11:50 p.m. on the day, passers-by found the decomposing body in bushes along the road.

Found dead on a beach

Anyone who may have information about her identity, or have information on the whereabouts of family members is asked to contact Detective Corporal L. Jackson at the St Catherine South Homicide Unit at 949-8403 or 949-8431.

Meanwhile, they are also waiting on some test results to determine the identity of a 16-year-old girl whose body was found in Hellshire in October.

The teenager was found dead on a beach in Hellshire, Portmore on October 19. Police say based on the clothing found at the scene, they may know who the child is. However, they are awaiting results from a DNA test to confirm the child's identity.

Old Hellshire beach

The teenager's body was found clad in blue jeans, a blue T-shirt and a pair of black slippers.

Police reports are that visitors stumbled upon the body of the child on a section of the old Hellshire beach and called the police. An on-the-spot post-mortem revealed that the victim died about three weeks prior to the discovery. The cause of death is still unknown.
