And Jackass must emphasise the 'decent', cause certain food that people just fling into their bodies because it is cheap won't keep them healthy.

Eat up him greens

Belly full is different from nutritious, y'know. That's why Jackass eat up him greens everytime.

But while the price of gas is falling very dramatically, it is not the same for food. Yeah man, food prices are stubborn like my cousin, the mule. Set in one direction and refusing to change course, despite it being obviously wrong.

And the maintained high prices could not be 'obviouser wronger'. The powers that be talk about it so often, that the retailers are not lowering their food prices despite the cuts on the world market, but they obviously cannot force anyone to slash what they demand for their goods when there are no set price controls.

This is despite the 10-day ultimatum that was given to food distributors, which expired yesterday. Cause if a man doesn't want to cut his prices, what can anyone do except go and buy somewhere else?

Food prices sky high

But the world is not level at all, because the business people who are keeping food prices sky high are the same ones who talk about the best interests of the country and moan about the terrible effect crime is having on the nation. And is them same one have people under this terrible stress just to eat.

Think about it. They are no better than the person who uses a weapon to rob someone, the difference being that the level of violence. But these price gougers are just as criminal. Because when people have to be spending so much more money than they should be just to eat, it means that they have that much less money to spend on things like education, like health care, like retirement investment.

Isn't that killing off their future?

But Jackass knows the drill. If you can dig out people's eyes the legal way then everything is fine. Especially if you are a supposedly respectable member of the society ('brown skin' does not hurt either). So we burn a fire on the youths on the corner who beg a 'dollar', but shell out our money to the food retailers who are making millions of dollars by keeping prices sky high.
