3 wanted men in police custody, another shot dead

Three wanted men are in police custody while another was fatally shot in separate incidents between Wednesday and yesterday.

The three men were nabbed during an operation in Old Harbour, St Catherine. One was wanted in connection with a shooting incident while the others are suspected to be involved in a series of robberies.

Their names are being withheld pending identification parades.

Meanwhile, Roger 'Kirk' Plummer, 24, was fatally shot during an alleged shoot-out with police. Plummer was wanted by the Clarendon police in connection with several crimes committed in the parish.

Among these was the murder of a man whose head was severed and mounted on a wall. Plummer was also a major suspect in the murder of three brothers in Lionel Town and in the death of an ex-policeman.

Police say at 4 a.m. an operation involving the May Pen Flying Squad and the Area Three police was conducted in Ginger Ground, St Elizabeth.

The police arrived at a house and were fired upon by men who tried to escape. The fire was returned and Plummer was shot. He died at hospital.
