MOOD SWINGS

Dear Pastor

I enjoy reading your column. Continue doing God's work. I am a 17-year-old girl. I am currently continuing my studies by attending college. My problem is that, recently, I have been having mood swings as it concerns my mother.

CAN'T STAND MOM

I have noticed that I can't stand to see her, nor hear her voice, nor be around her. I don't know why. Don't get me wrong, I love my mother very much, but I just don't understand why it is I can't stand her.

Do you know the cause of this? Please help me, as I don't like this feeling I have for my mother. I humbly await your reply.

O.D., Kingston, Jamaica

Dear O.D.,

Generally, when girls say that they can't stand their mothers, there is an underlying problem. But you have not stated any.

You seem to want to give the impression that everything is well between you and your mother.

I doubt that very much, so I would suggest that you make an appointment to see a psychologist who would reason with you and ask you questions that would make him or her determine what is your problem and help you to change your attitude towards your mother.
