Special subsidy for patty

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I think the Government should give patty companies a special subsidy for the ingredients used in the making of patties and cocoa breads. Also, the bakers of small buns should be given a special subsidy.

Ridiculous

Patty and cocoa bread and bun and cheese are slowly moving out of the reach of many Jamaicans. The prices of these items continue to go up, yet the sizes remain the same. I think it is ridiculous to be paying almost $100 for bun and cheese and the same for certain patties.

So many Jamaicans depend on a patty and cocoa bread or a bun and cheese to sustain life. The cheese company could give schools a special rate on cheese.

I am, etc.,
