Although he was busy for most of the night, Shaggy fulfilled Camelia Carter's fantasy on their date.
Carter won a date with the artiste in the 'Shaggy Win A Date' competition that was done in December through The STAR.
For the date, Carter spent an evening with the philanthropist and entertainer at the Shaggy and Friends concert, which was held on the lawn of Jamaica House last Saturday night.
As expected, the man of the evening was occupied for most of the night. He admitted that he had to be moving around to meet and greet the guests.
"I had to even pass her on to Rik Rok for a while but she is back with me now," Shaggy said while they stood backstage.
Many memories
Shaggy cuddles with his date for the evening, Camelia Carter.
Carter was beaming with joy as she spoke with The STAR.
"It has been busy, fun, entertaining and great because I got to eat with the Prime Minister (Bruce Golding). I watched Shaggy perform with Rik Rok. I went backstage and met the King of the Dancehall (Beenie Man) and the fastest man in the world (Usain Bolt)," Carter said.
"Probably none of them will remember me after this, but I know I will never forget this night because it is my fairy tale. If they don't remember me, I don't think it's their fault 'cause they meet so many people for the night," she continued.
Carter's night could not have been any better because she enjoyed the show and said she will bring home many memories, including laughing for most of the night with Rik Rok.
Shaggy said he would have loved to offer more to his date but he was too busy to do so.
"As you can see, I am stuck here. So apart from hanging out and enjoying the show, I don't think there is anything else I can offer at this point," Shaggy told The STAR.
In addition to having a wonderful time on the date, Carter praised Shaggy for the work he has been doing with the Bustamante Hospital for Children.
"I think what he is doing is wonderful and I hope next year more artistes will come on-board and give back. If I get the chance to help out, I will," Carter told The STAR.
