No to 'daggering' parties for kids

The 'daggering' party for kids has to come to an end. That should be one of the New Year's resolution for the community that hosts such an event. The party is just not right.

The story published in The Star of January 2, highlighted how a party was staged for kids, where 'daggering' among the children, was the main attraction. Shockingly, the article noted that some of these kids were as young as eight years old.

Most persons Jamaica should know what 'daggering' is and what it suggests. There is no way that children should be allowed to carry on in this sort of way while adults cheer them on.

What do these adults think the next step would be for these kids, when they decide that 'daggering' is just not enough? What will the outcome be? More teenage pregnancies?

Adults need to realise that children's mimicking of certain adult-like behaviour or dances is inappropriate. So please, let us all take a more responsible role in raising our children this year.
