Talent is not confined to any single location and at times changes need to be made in order to accommodate more contestants who want to compete, especially in a dancehall-oriented talent show like Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall. Last season the competition held auditions in cool Mandeville but this season the organisers chose May Pen instead.
Many reasons can be offered for this change and assistant producer for the series, Natalie Parboosingh, believes that it was the right decision: "We felt that it was a good idea in supporting a change and May Pen represented a better way of reaching a wider market for us over Mandeville. May Pen creates a more
central location to pull on the talents from both areas."

Regarding the quality of the May Pen contestants Parboosingh also revealed: "May Pen was pretty good... the girls were just as good as the boys." She also made note that often times female contestants can be a bit timid because dancehall is more of a male-dominated field, but that with a bit of encouragement things can change and Magnum Kings and Queens
of Dancehall is a gateway for such change.
The May Pen auditions for Season two of Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall will air on TVJ this Saturday at
9 p.m.
