Cotton Candy: sweet dreams and naughty nightmares

file - A scene from last year's Hunt's Summer Cook-Out party, at Salisbury Avenue, Barbican, on Sunday, August 17, which was hosted by Jade Beatz Promotions. The promoters are aiming for another successful event with Cotton Candy.

The older the berry, the sweeter the juice, and today, Jade:Beatz Promotions promises to prove this theory ten-fold, with Jamaica's first premium drink and candy treats inclusive event, 'Cotton Candy'.

"It's a sexy event," says promoter Stephen Willie, "and the initial concept of mixing sweet treats and liquor together was something we thought would have heightened the sexy, and create an unbelievably energetic experience that would leave our patrons in sweet bliss," he said.

The theme this year is 'Sweet Dreams and Naughty Nightmares' and the promoters have been urging their patrons to come dressed naughty or nice for the event. "This event is for adults and we wanted to create an atmosphere for persons to come out and be just a tad uninhibited for this one," said Dwayne Harris, the other half of Jade:Beatz promotions. "We want our patrons to look sexy, feel sexy and just have a little fun, but still maintain that classy, premium environment."

variety of treats

The promoters, who are also responsible for the May Daze party series held every Friday in May, and the Summer and Christmas Cook-Out parties, promises that patrons will have a wide variety of treats to choose from. "A 30-ft main bar, a slushy bar and a Crazy Jim ice cream bar will be present, as well as sweet treats for all and free candy eye makeup art for the ladies provided by MPossible Creations Make-up and Photography. There will also be tons of chocolate treats from Cadbury, along with a few other surprises," Harris added.

"The event will definitely be one you cannot afford to miss, and with the possibility of winning free products from Lena's Island Beauty and a brand new Blackberry Storm, who would want to? The Candy Man will be in the venue and all a female has to do is try and spot him, go over to him and ask. 'Are you the Candy Man'? If he is, she wins a brand new Blackberry Storm," says Willie.

The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. and the promoters urge that patrons come out early.
