In 2000, Pamsharn Johnson was planning her birthday party when she met a bishop. In what could be defined as her Damascus Road experience, Evangelist Johnson decided to invite the bishop to her party. That decision would bring her to Christ and now, the woman of God has been a Christian for nine years and counting.

"I was the kind of person who was living it up at that time; and my friends and I planned my birthday party for a Sunday afternoon in the year 2000. I saw the new bishop putting up posters to stage a crusade and decided that I would not keep the party with the loud music, the drinks and all of that. Instead, I baked the cakes and invited the bishop and he came and played music with his guitar," said Johnson.

Johnson said following the birthday party, she said she went to the crusade and gave her life to the Lord, giving herself what she described as a double birthday present. She has not looked back since.

Johnson is an evangelist at the Heathfield Emanuel's Hope Restored Church of God in Manchester. She has been an evangelist for the past three years and is passionate about serving God.

"Unlike some other people who would just go out there and do anything and just don't care, I can't do so, because God just pull me back from such things. The fear of God is just over my life, so I just have to stay right in the Church and live a life for God, because I realise that I was ordained from the womb just like Jeremiah," said Johnson.

She said God's calling has been on her life for a long time. Growing up in a home where her grandparents lived their lives for God, the evangelist said her grandfather was the founder of the church where she currently serves. However, she said until nine years ago, she was nowhere near being a devout Christian. She adds that she was into the latest fads but realised that not all of them were for her.

Johnson said she still attended church even after the death of her grandfather, especially because she could not afford to allow anyone to think that she was being disrespectful to the new pastor who came on.

However, everything changed when she decided to invite the bishop to strum a few chords at her party. Since then, her life has not been the same and she has been working for God.
