The newly-weds, Tyrone and Tricia make memories. - George Henry photos

Tyrone Chambers and Tricia Johnson were all smiles on their wedding day, Saturday, January 17, at the Bridge Palm Hotel at Toll Gate in Clarendon. The couple tied the knot in the presence of family members and friends on a bright sunny afternoon.

The ceremony, officiated by Reverend Authur Brown, bishop for the Santa Hill City of Faith Church of God near Spaldings, was enhanced by a beautiful garden backdrop.

Following a musical interlude, the bridal march, the singing of Great is Thy Faithfulness, the opening prayer and the scripture reading which was taken from Ephesians 4, Bishop Brown reminded the couple of the important things to focus on as they begin their new life together.

Compassionate understanding

Brown told them that marriage allows husbands and wives to grow together in manhood and womanhood. He said the Bible declares that a man should leave his mother and father and cleave to his wife, and that they should be each other's friend and have a compassionate understanding.

The marriage officer noted that the couple, who travelled separate paths for years, came to the wedding ceremony to be joined as one.

After the vows, Bishop Brown asked who was giving Tricia to be married to Tyrone, and her mother Effie Johnson proudly said she was. He then blessed their wedding rings which they exchanged.

The new Mr and Mrs Chambers were given the opportunity to kiss in public for the first time, then they were asked to sign the marriage register. Meanwhile, soloist Errol Denton entertained the guests.

Immediately after the couple returned from signing, they were presented to the crowd, but they could not escape requests for them to kiss once more.

The reception followed, and was expertly emceed by Clive Warren. His jokes at times had persons in stitches as they laughed.

After dinner, toasts were offered to the newly-weds. The groom thanked all for attending, those who catered, and complimented his beautiful wife, Tricia, before the wonderful evening came to an end. And Mrs Chambers did not forget to toss her bouquet for the unmarried women to catch.

Others who took part in the wedding ceremony included Matron of Honour Suzan Antrobus; Best Man Martin Cole; Chief Bridesmaid Jennifer Evans; Bridesmaid Norda Green; Groom's Men Junior King and André Taylor; Flower Girl Tash-Marie Collins; Ring Bearer Ronaldo Johnson and Usher Lyn Allen.
