Lady Genus arrested for harbouring a fugitive

Female selector Lady Genus was one of two females arrested in St Catherine on charges of Harbouring a fugitive. The entertainer was arrested along with Marvelettte Roberts of Havana Heights in May Pen, Clarendon.

The arrests came after the lawmen went in search of William 'Don T' Lewis, 22, of School Lane in Old Harbour, St Catherine, who escaped from the the Old Harbour police lock-up on Valentine's Day last year.

Lewis, who was held on murder, shooting with intent and other charges, cut his way to freedom.

Dwelling house

About 5 a.m., police visited a dwelling house where the fugitive was found in the company of the two women. Lewis has since been charged with escaping custody.

All three will appear in the Old Harbour Resident Magistrate's Court later this week.

Since Lewis' escape, refurbishing work has been done on the lock-up.
