Dear Pastor,
I live in the United States with my parents and two older brothers. We visit Jamaica regularly to see family members. While I was there about three summers ago I met a girl and I liked her and heard that she liked me too. One of my brothers went behind my back and slept with her and he knew how I felt about her. I was so mad with him that I punched him in the face and we had a big verbal altercation.
I am having a hard time forgiving him and I don't know what to do. Can you give me some advice about how I can forgive him and move on?

Dear N.K.,
Your brother let you down but so did this girl who expressed interest in you. You claim that your brother knew that both of you liked each other and yet he slept with her. You didn't expect him to do so. I can understand how you feel. On the other hand, this young woman isn't someone you should fight over. She is very cheap and easy to get.
When your worthless brother approached her, she could have said, "Oh no, your brother is interested in me and I can't go to bed with you". She consented and, as a result, there was a blow-up between you and your brother.
Listen, man, don't fight over her. In your mind, consider her dead. She is not a good girl. Meet with your brother and tell him, as brothers, you should not fight over a woman and wish him well with her. After that, don't raise the issue again.
