Goule will be hard to beat

Manchester High's Natoya Goule.

NAME: Natoya Goule

D.O.B: 30.3.09

CLASS: One

SCHOOL: Manchester High

EVENTS: 800m, 1500m, 4x400m

PR: 2:05.90 (800m), 4:32. (1500m)

MAIN RIVALS AND WHY: Goule, despite dominating these events, said she was unaware of any major rivals, based on the fact that she has not run the 800m event this season. The situation is similar in the 1500m.

LAST YEAR'S PERFORMANCE: In the 1500m, Goule recorded 4:36.36 for the Class Two victory, while she won the 800m in 2:08.78.

EXPECTATION THIS YEAR: Goule said she expects to win three gold medals, the 800m, 1500m and 4x400m, which she said could depend on what shape her teammates are in for the final girls event at Champs.

NOTE: Don't think that Goule's comment about her being unaware of any rivals are merely bragging. The fact is that in the last four years Goule has not lost a race over these distances at Champs, and the way that these victories have come, it seems safe to say, barring any major mishaps, these medals are reserved for the middle-distance queen. Goule's dominance isn't simply local, but even at the regional level she has won three straight years at Under-17 and at last year's first outing at Under-20 Carifta Games level.
