Eagle View clip Eradication at home

A large crowd saw unbeaten leaders Eagle View overpower home team Eradication by nine points in their feature 17th round match in the CTL Portmore/St. Catherine domino league at Gregory Park last Sunday.

With anticipation high, the match provided a real treat between two of the most popular teams in the competition

When the dust settled, Eagle View won 300-291 in a hard-fought contest (countdown) which saw both teams tying the scores 32 times before half time and 10 other times after the interval.

As a result of their victory, Eagle View, the only unbeaten team in the competition, lead the standings with 68 points from 17 matches. Eradication, having lost twice this season, hold down third place with 54 points from 16 matches. Eradication have a rescheduled match against Old Harbour United, which will be played on Easter Sunday, April 12, at Gregory Park.

Results of other matches played last Sunday are as follows:

High-flying Fort International maintained second place following their 300-290 victory over Ackee Pod in an away match at Newland Road, Caribbean Classic held on to joint fourth spot with 54 points after crushing Prozz and Conzz 300-236 in a home match at Portmore Lane. Home team Right Stuff drubbed Marlie Mount 300-237 at Cedar Grove Road.

Hurricane beat Old Harbour United 300-295 in a home match at Dunbeholden, Seamaster defeated Ken's Wildflower 300-290 in Old Harbour Bay, Masterpiece beat Colours 300-290 in Old Harbour, Old Harbour Bay toppled New Look 300-262 at Lakes Pen, Correctional Services clipped Lime Tree 300-299 in a sudden-death countdown at Lime Tree Grove, and Westchester and ISCF gained walkovers from High Roller and Garveymeade, respectively.

Tomorrow's feature match pits second-place Fort International against fourth-place Caribbean Classic at Passagefort Drive. Third-place Eradication take on 10th- place Hurricane at Gregory Park and Old Harbour United are up against sixth-place Ackee Pod in Old Harbour. All matches commence at 11:30 a.m.

Latest points standings: Eagle View 68, Fort International 61; Eradication in third on 54, but from 16 matches; Caribbean Classic fourth on 54, same as Masterpiece, followed by Ackee Pod in sixth with 48; Prozz and Conzz 47; Marlie Mount in eighth spot with 46; Right Stuff in ninth with 43, but from 16 matches, Hurricane 10th with 42; ISCF in 11th position with 39, but from 15 matches and Old Harbour United 12th with 39 from 16. The top eight at the end of the preliminary round will qualify for the quarter finals.
