Ken's cop Lester 'Ken' Crooks trophy


Anthony Minott - Ken's Wildflower cricket team celebrate their 53-run victory over an All-Media team after a Ken's Wildflower Sports Club/ All-Media cricket match in honour of businessman, Lester 'Ken' Crooks birthday. The match was played at the Ken's Wildflower Sports ground on Sunday.

Ken's Wildflower cricket team, spurred on by Junior Stewart's 113 (retired), blew away a Media Invitational XI by 53 runs to win the Lester Ken Crooks Birthday Trophy on Sunday at the Ken's Wildflower Sports ground.

Ken's batted first and piled up 223-9 off 29.3 overs with Stewart's unbeaten century.

Milton Thomas made 33 and Dean Morgan chipped in with 31 against the bowling of Oneil Dunn, 4-21, and Wayne Billings 3-50.

In reply, The Media Invitational XI were bowled out for 169. Wayne Billings topscoring with 60. Useful knocks came from Jamaica youth player Vandeer Rowe, 29, and Raymond Barnes, 29. Stewart, capped a superb match with bowling figures of 4-23. He was supported by Myron Chin with 3-29.

At the end of the game, Lester 'Ken' Crooks handed over the championship trophy to Denwoth Barber, captain of the winning Ken's Wildflower team.
