Cops keep close eye on Central Village

The St Catherine South police say they will be keeping a close watch on sections of Central Village in the parish, following the suspected reprisal killing of a man on Thursday.

female companion

The man, 28-year-old Kevan Daniel of the community, was reportedly at home with a female companion about 2:30 a.m. when explosions were heard.

Residents told the police that the house was then seen on fire before Daniel and the woman ran from it.

Daniel's body was later found at the back of the yard.

According to investigators, Daniel was an alleged member of the 'Zambia' gang, which operates in the community.

The gang was fingered in the slaying on Ernel Harvey, also called 'Choir Voice', in May last year.

Investigators further say that the gang and friends of Harvey had been at odds since, with threats being made back and forth between the two parties.
