When death strikes unexpectedly |
|||||
A recent news story about a pregnant woman who was killed in an accident is yet another reminder that life is short and unpredictable. According to some sources, the woman was returning from a shopping trip, when tragedy struck. She had reportedly gone shopping for items for her baby. It is indeed a tragic and unfortunate incident, especially when we think of the new and promising life that was waiting for this woman and her child. It is strange how death can creep up on people when it is least expected or thought about. We are sure that when this woman left home, she was full of expectations and plans for her life. Little did she know that death was awaiting her. Stories like this and the many others that emphasise the need to be thankful for life, are constant reminders of the fact that we need to live each day as though it is our last. We never know what each new day brings and likewise, we cannot stop what is destined to happen from doing so. However, what we can do is live each day to the fullest, be appreciative of the things and people around us and live our lives in such a way that when tragedy does strike, those left behind will have pleasant memories and positive things to say. |
