Black Kat says Thanks |

Members of the Black Kat sound syatem, based in Christiana, Manchester, share in the excitement with fans and dancehall artiste Beenie Man (third right), after they won the Death Before Dishonour World Clash Jamaica contest, at the ninth staging of the event held at Pier One in Montego Bay on Monday. - Noel Thompson Black Kat Sound, winners of this year's World Clash, staged on Easter Monday, Pier One, Montego Bay, thanks all who made their victory possible. The self-dubbed 'Five Star General', Pink Panther of the sound says their sixth win came with a tremendous amount of work, not only from the members of the sound, but also from the artistes whose dubs aided in their victory. "Yuh have people like Romain (Virgo) and his songs Caan Sleep and Wanna Go Home that got a lot of forwards when I pull dem up. Then you have Little Hero and Mavado. There were other dubs that we used, but I'm just talking about the ones that got the outstanding forwards. But I just want to say thanks to them and all the artistes for the great work." Panther, named Edward Johnson, elaborated on Virgo: "Yuh see him now, he is going to go very far. He's a very good singer and doesn't need auto-tune. These days, that's what everybody is using to create some hype and try to sound good. But he has the voice and he is writing some good original tunes that everybody can listen to since him come on the scene." Some of the formidable sounds Black Kat beat at the clash, hosted by popular personality Ragashanti, were Black Blunt and Mighty Crown in the final lap. |
