Illegal firearm holder killed |

A 25-year-old man who aimed an illegal firearm at a member of a police team yesterday at Havana, Arnett Gardens, Kingston 12, was shot and killed. The firearm was seized in the incident. The dead man has been identified as Ricardo 'Danny Lee' Lee, of Havana, Arnett Gardens. The CCN reported that about 5:30 a.m., the Kingston West police, supported by members of the Caribbean Search Centre, went to Havana in search of wanted men, illegal firearms, ammunition and dangerous drugs. A premises was cordoned off and the lawmen ordered that the occupant open the door. In a bid to escape, Lee opened the door and was confronted by a member of the team. He reportedly aimed the firearm at the lawman and was shot by another member. The weapon - a Skyy CPS1 9mm pistol, serial number, 015931 with five rounds of ammunition - was taken from him. The injured man was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Bureau of Special investigations has commenced a probe. |
