Following a meeting of the JFF competitions and disciplinary committee yesterday, both teams have been fined $100,000 each for their roles in the incident. The game, which led to pitch invasion by some spectators, and incidents which saw missiles being launched on to the pitch, followed an on-field dispute between Harbour View's Rafiek Thomas and Tivoli's Christopher Jackson. The incident will result in both players also paying a heavy price, each being handed six game suspensions, for their part in the incident. Banned for two matches In addition to their time on the sidelines, Jackson, who was appearing before the committee for the second time in under a month, was hit with a fine of $10,000, while Thomas will be forced to pay $5,000. Other players hit with sanctions include the Tivoli Gardens pair of Steve Green and Edsel Scott, who were each banned for two matches and fined $5,000. Harbour View's Nicholas Beckett was banned for two matches and hit with a $1,000 fine. Breaching JFF regulation Harbour View team manager Robert Lee was also found guilty of breaching JFF regulation and fined $5,000, while team captain Jermaine Hue and Richard Edwards were each fined $2,000 for dissent. In a release issued by the JFF, president Captain Horace Burrell scolded the teams for irresponsible behaviour. "That kind of behaviour goes against everything that our organisation stands for and by extension, our parent bodies of FIFA, CONCACAF and the Caribbean Football Union (CFU)," Burrell's statement read. "I have instructed the JFF's Disciplinary and Competitions committees to immediately investigate the matter and to deal with it in the firmest way possible allowed by the regulations. We will not allow a few unruly persons to destroy the wonderful game we all love," he added.
