McCook's Pen's assistant coach Bychan Bryan insists his team will be going for the kill in today's second leg of the St Catherine Football Association Division one semi-final at the Prison Oval, in Spanish Town at 6 p.m. Scoreline In the opening game of the double-header at the venue, beginning at 4 p.m., Cumberland and Waterford will try and break their first-leg 0-0 scoreline. After a draw in their first-leg encounter, a dissatisfied Bryan believed his team to have been the better one and possessed the edge going into today's second leg. "That was not a fair result for us, but we will bounce back, and work harder. in the second leg, we are expecting to put them away," Bryan said. On Saturday, Portsmouth threw literally everything at McCook's Pen and the latter still escaped with a 1-1 draw. Portsmouth squandered six clear-cut chances, including a penalty in the eighth minute, missed by Nicholas Warren. McCook's Pen looked good in attack in the second half and Dowen Brown on two occasions could have given them the lead, within the first 10 minutes of the half. Brown first fired powerfully from the left side, and Portsmouth goalkeeper Devrick Dawson tipped the ball over the crossbar. Brown, who gave the Portsmouth defence trouble, then headed an attempt off the post. Portsmouth took the lead with a set piece in the 58th minute. McCook's Pen received a lifeline in the 77th minute, as Corey Sewell was brought down in the penalty area by goalie Dawson. Brown converted from the spot to level the contest. Coach of Portsmouth, Dwayne Taylor, was disappointed with the result but promised a better second leg. All-out attack "We got a lot of chances to score, but we were not finishing properly in front of goal. we just have to readjust and come back again," Taylor admitted. "We were supposed to have a five-goal cushion going to the next leg, but the forwards were just not shooting well. for the second leg, it will be the same thing all-out attack." If the teams are tied after regulation time, then extra-time and penalties will be used to declare a winner.
