Claude Davis - File Jamaican international Claude Davis could miss the rest of the season for English Championship team Crystal Palace after being charged with violent conduct by the English Football Association, according to Skysports News. The decision was handed out by the FA after reviewing a game that occurred between Palace and Cardiff last weekend. A collision between the defender and Cardiff's Roger Johnson led to the latter spending two days in the hospital. While no action had been taken against the on-loan Derby County player at the time by referee Russell Booth, Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale had called on the FA to investigate the incident. In response, Palace boss, Simon Jordan, had called the Bluebirds chief's actions "irresponsible" and "outrageous". Davis will have until 6 p.m. tomorrow to respond to the claim, which, if upheld, will see the defender miss the final three games of the season. Eagles boss Neil Warnock did not think Davis should have been charged over the the incident. Inconclusive "The referee told us after the game that he saw it and thought it was inconclusive, so I don't know what has changed his mind," Warnock told the South London Press. "There are just no comparisons between some of the challenges I've seen that haven't been punished. That's Claude done for the season now." The play, which had resulted from a corner at Selhurst Park, saw Davis appear to catch Johnson with an elbow, causing the player to immediately fall to his knees and the player had to be carried off the field by a stretcher. Johnson has since stated that he is disappointed with Davis, who he believes intended to cause him injury.
