Fix it - What's the status of Waltham Park Road?
AS PART of our mission to be the People Paper, THE WEEKEND STAR has been highlighting problem areas across the island. Our reporter, Carolyn Johnson, along with photographer Norman Grindley, will focus on a particular area until the problem is fixed. We will then have a rough idea of how long the relevant authorities take to deal with some of the problems affecting our country.

We would love to know what's happening on Waltham Park Road. Must the taxi operators and motorists block the road again, and pose for television cameras, to have it repaired? Second, why de same piece a road mash up so quick?

In case you're wondering, we're referring to the section of Waltham Park Road near Oakland Crescent. The strip of road before the gully seems to deteriorate daily as the sinkholes deepen and widen. We suspect that some correction work is needed at this section of the road, as it seems the water from the gully is eroding it.

We really hope this piece of road will be repaired soon, as it leads to great delays when traffic builds up because motorists must slow to pass this developing channel. Seriously, we beseech the National Works Agency to get moving.
