Woman pleads guilty to attempted contraband smuggle |

Analee Bernard, Black River A woman who tried to smuggle a Nokia phone along with four batteries, ganja and Rizzla into the Black River Police lock-up pleaded guilty to charges on Wednesday in the Black River Resident Magistrate's Court and will be sentenced on April 23. She is Diane Elliott, 31, of Great Bay District in Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth. brought in a container Allegations are that on April 12, Elliott reportedly concealed the items in food she brought in a container for an inmate. It was, however, discovered while the police searched the food for contraband. She was taken into custody, arrested and charged for attempting to smuggle contraband to an inmate in custody. |
