Come the end of June, some 20 employees of local beer company Red Stripe will be sent packing as the entity continues its "organisational redesign". In a release issued yesterday, the company highlighted that two of their senior staff members, Director of Marketing Wayne Lawrence, and Head of Corporate Relations Maxine Whittingham-Osborne have already been relieved of their duties. Red Stripe's Managing Director Mark McKenzie was quoted in the memo as saying that: "These two individuals have made tremendous contributions to Red Stripe's brands and stature in Jamaica." outplacement support The beer company said that customary outplacement support would be provided for those employees who would be leaving, in addition to retraining opportunities that are offered by the company. The release also continued that Noel daCosta "who had an illustrious career with Diageo/ Red Stripe, would be retiring after 36 years of sterling contribution to the businesses and the beverage alcohol industry." The company said that daCosta would continue to serve as a non-executive director on the board of Red Stripe. |
