Power of Faith won by 10 wickets. Faith Temple New Testament, Miracle Open Bible and Power of Faith seniors advanced to the semi-finals, following last Saturday's round of matches in the Power of Faith Ministries Twenty20 church cricket league at the Lime Tree Oval in St Catherine. Power of Faith Ministries seniors advanced from zone one after their crushing 10-wicket win over Braeton New Testament, in the second game of a double-header at the venue. Power of Faith Ministries seniors advanced with six points from two games. Scores: Braeton New Testament 55 all out. Phillip Smith, 22, pace bowlers Mchail Powell, 5-11, Jermaine Grant 2-18; Power of Faith Ministries seniors, 56-0, 7.2 overs, Robert Williams 26 not out, Deron Daley 24 not out. In the first game, Faith Temple, the zone- one winner, defeated Power of Faith (PFM) development by 39 runs to qualify for the semis with a better net run-rate. PFM development was eliminated after that loss. Scores: Faith Temple 165-7 off 20 overs, Dwayne Sinclair 54 not out, Dwight Williams 30, Danville Campbell, 2-23; PFM development 126-6 off 20 overs Peter Harrison 40, Jahmal Blackwin 30, Kenneth Isaacs 4-26. Miracle Open Bible also advanced to the next round after their unlikely 28-run win over Faith Temple two Saturdays ago. They too had a better net run-rate over the development team. All three teams were tied on three points, so net run-rate was used to break the tie. |
