Orville Clarke, Portmore Star Writer The CTL-sponsored Portmore/St Catherine domino league moves into its 20th and penultimate round tomorrow with the usual 11 matches scheduled. Last Sunday, the competition took a break to mark the Easter holiday. However, provision was made for the playing of three postponed matches, including Eradication vs Old Harbour United at Gregory Park. Playing at home, third-place Eradication defeated the Old Harbour team 300-246, rebounding from an unexpected defeat against home team Marlie Mount on April 5. In the two other rescheduled matches, ISCF beat Colours 300-290, while Right Stuff gained a walkover from New Look. Matches scheduled for tomorrow's 20th round are as follows (home teams named first): Unbeaten leaders Eagle View vs Westchester, Old Harbour United vs Fort International, Lime Tree vs Ackee Pod, Masterpiece vs Right Stuff at Old Harbour Road, ISCF vs Marlie Mount, Ken's Wildflower vs Prozz and Conzz, Correctional Services vs Old Harbour Bay, Colours vs Eradication, while Caribbean Classic, Hurricane and Seamaster will gain walkovers from Garveymeade, High Roller and New Look, respectively. Points are crucial for teams at the bottom of the top eight and those immediately below at this stage, as the first eight will advance to the May 3 quarter finals. The points standings for the top 10 teams (all from 19 matches) show Eagle View on top with 79, followed by Fort International 70, Eradication 63, Masterpiece fourth with 62, Caribbean Classic 59, Ackee Pod sixth with 56, ISCF seventh with 55, the same as Prozz and Conzz in eighth spot. Right Stuff are ninth with 51 and Marlie Mount 10th on 50, but both could still force their way into the top eight. |
