The Jokers Wild J'Ouvert party, held at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston on Friday night, proved too much for anyone to just stand and observe. And while most patrons craved paint to cover their bodies and splash on others, others had to constantly fend off 'paint-crazed' supporters. Fantastic vibes? "Yes, it was. That's how it is," Promoter Robert Chantrelle said. "The intention of the party was to have patrons enjoying themselves. I didn't find anything negative," he said. The women were skimpily clad and ready to have fun, as they coupled well with the lusting men. Trinidad's Dawg Slaughter of Xcaliber sound system, connected well with patrons as he played fellow Trinidadian, Machel Montano's Don't Stop, giving the women an opportunity to show off their acrobatic skills. Refreshments were unlimited and the patrons crammed around the bar, but that didn't stop the bartenders from joining in the action. The patrons were already vibing at full-throttle when Miami's Renegade took over on the turntables - fusing dancehall and soca, much to the crowd's appreciation. Amazingly, with all the rigorous workout while dancing to Alison Hinds' Roll It Gyal, the energetic crowd still had enough energy to endure a two-hour long road march which signalled the end of the event. "Actually, J'Ouvert is a long-standing part of Trinidad carnival but we decided to put a twist on it where we have a little event and then the road march," outlined Chantrelle. The fun exploded during the road march, after the women were let loose on the streets of New Kingston. Even a few police personnel escorting the march, were given lap dances as Beenie Man's Back It Up played in the background. "It had a great vibe to it - and everyone seemed to like it," Chantrelle said.
