Supreme Court Judge Martin Gayle yesterday extended the bail of 32-year-old St Andrew businessman Steven Causewell who is charged with the murder of his 28-year-old ex-girlfriend Nordia Mitchell. Causewell is to return to the Home Circuit Court on June 12 when his trial begins. The Crown is alleging that Mitchell died after she sustained serious injuries at her home at Oakland Apartments, Constant Spring, on July 16 last year. It was first reported that Mitchell died from a fall at her apartment. However, a post-mortem revealed that Mitchell did not die from injuries consistent with a fall, as was initially mentioned. The Crown is alleging that Mitchell died from injuries she sustained during a beating. |
