Star Tell Me Pastor

Pretty contagious

Dear Pastor,

I am a regular reader of your column. I have found them to be very interesting. About nine years ago, I met a very attractive woman. She had good looks and clean skin. She was a woman who could fill the eyes of any man. Eventually, we started dating and about a year and a half into our relationship, I decided to marry her.

To my surprise, I found out that I have HIV/Aids. I did not know until after some time. My hair started to change and I started to lose weight. I went from one doctor to the next but I was unable to get help. She eventually took me to her doctor and while there I was told to get an HIV test. I took the test and it came back positive. When I got home that day, I told her but she did not even act surprised. She told me not to tell anyone. I could not keep a secret such as that and so I told my family and a few friends.

Homicidal

I was upset and wanted to kill her. She knew this and ran away, leaving all her possessions. She came back one day with some friends and took her things. What is surprising to me is that despite having this terrible illness, when on medication and taking regular treatment, one can look so good.

As I write, she is now living with someone else, and that person is not aware that she has HIV/Aids. We are not divorced but that is going to happen very soon.

Just a word to all you 'hard-core' men out there: remember, once the person has started the treatment, you cannot tell the difference between a completely healthy person and one who has HIV/Aids. So BEWARE!

C.M., St. Catherine

Dear C.M.,

I thank you very much for your letter. It is a warning to all not to take anybody at face value. Your wife is iniquitous. She is deceptive and does not care about anybody but herself. She knew exactly what she was doing when she got involved with you and did not inform you of her condition.

She is now living with another man, and it is time for you to act. You should report this woman to the police and to the Ministry of Health. Look into the directory for the information. Again, thank you for writing and may God bless you and grant you peace of mind.
