Champions and leaders Portmore United last night stretched their Digicel Premier League lead over Harbour View to six points after edging hot Boys' Town 1-0 at Ferdie Neita Park.

Steven Morrisey netted in the 49th minute to send Portmore further ahead of Harbour View, who got a 90th-minute goal at Drewsland from Dicoy Williams to eke out a 2-2 draw, coming from behind twice against Waterhouse. Harbour View remained on 60 points but precariously so ahead of Tivoli Gardens, who skipped past Boys' Town on 54 to hold down third spot with 56 points after a 2-1 win at Sporting Central.

Disappointing

Coach Donovan Hayles, whose Harbour View are without a win four games, said his team was disappointing in the first half but came out better after the break.

"We've been disappointing in the first half for our last three or four games but in the second half we did enough to win the game," he said.

However, the Harbour View coach admitted a win would have been better in their cause to reel in leaders Portmore United.

"I'm very concerned. We need to start hitting three-point games. Playing away from home it's difficult but we need to improve because if Portmore wins tonight then that's two additional points to chase," he said.

Harbour View will also have Tivoli to worry about with the West Kingston men now four points behind them. Roland Dean wasted no time in sending Tivoli ahead after two minutes but Jermaine Christian netted his second straight Premier League goal to level the match eight minutes later.

However, Navion Boyd, who scored Tivoli's opener against Portmore last Sunday, ensured maximum for the West Kingston men in the 20th minute. Arnett Gardens, fifth on 44 points, left confirmation for a place in the top six for the fourth round hanging, playing out a 0-0 draw with last-place Village at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex.

Relegation zones

The Junglists are two points clear of the pair of sixth and seventh place teams, Waterhouse and St Georges, with one match to play in the round, a decider to separate the league into championship and relegation zones.

Whereas Waterhouse twice gave up the lead to Harbour View, St Georges made no such mistake at home, beating Reno 2-1 off goals from Damion Harwood in the 41st and Leon Irving in the 73rd. Reno got an 82nd-minute consolation from Omar Johnson. At Constant Spring, 10th-place Meadhaven confirmed their dominance over eight-place Rivoli with a 2-0 victory, goals coming from Keneil Hyde in the 14th minute and Keammar Daley in the 56th.
