'Gallis' turns gal clown
Dear Pastor,

I have a 21-year-old friend, who attends a certain university. As a close friend and brethren of this individual for the last few years, I believe this man has lost his way. He got baptised recently, not for the love of the Lord, but for the love of something else.

It's a long story that goes back to when he started seeing this female. He is a bit huge in size, so everyone wondered why she was interested in him, since she usually dated guys with a much smaller physique.

not interested

After a while he started spending most, if not all of his money on this woman and in return she did nothing for him. She doesn't clean, cook or wash for him. She doesn't even spread the bed that they sleep on. His friends and I saw what was happening and decided to intervene, which we did, on numerous occasions. We told him he was doing too much for this girl, who doesn't even seem interested. At one point, he took her out to eat every day for lunch and dinner, spending no less than $1,000 each time. Mind you, this is not a working man, he is a student, supported by parents who are not so well off. At times, his girlfriend would even wake him up early in the mornings to cook breakfast for her. He would even get up and cook for his girl and leave none for us, even using our food which others pooled together to purchase.

no conscience

He used to be what you would call a 'gallis' but I fear, Pastor that he may be turning into a 'gal clown'. This girl left him on four different occasions and she has another man from Spanish Town, who drives a car and is employed.

This girl has no conscience, as she now claims that they are in love and that we have no fact to come to such conclusions and we are judging her. All the facts we have came from her mouth. She even said I didn't care about him nor do I care about her feelings and we should just leave her/them alone to what they have been doing. Pastor, please tell me how I can help my friend because I have run out of options?

L.K.,

Dear L.K.,

You guys should back off. If this young man is wasting his time with this woman, he would soon find out. Mind your own business and leave them alone.

Pastor
