The police seized two vehicles and accosted a man they claim had stolen meat in his possession. The incident which occurred yesterday is still under investigation. About 1:15 yesterday afternoon, the police saw two vehicles in Stony Hill square that were occupied by men they claimed looked suspicious. Both vehicles were ordered to stop and the men from one of the vehicle allegedly fled. However, a man who was the only occupant of the other vehicle was held. Upon searching the vehicles, approximately 800 pounds of beef was found The vehicles seized were identified as a green Toyota Camry from which the four men fled and a white Toyota Caldina, which contained the meat. Inspector Anthony Brown from the Stony Hill police revealed that the men involved are from St Thomas and they believe the meat was taken from that parish as well. The police declined to release the name of the man caught in the incident as he was not charged up to press time. |
