IT's the final match of the third round of the Digicel Premier League tomorrow afternoon with the stretch run beckoning the top-six teams to play for the title and the lower six for finishing positions and ultimately avoiding relegation. Champions Portmore United are looking to stretch their six-point lead over second-place Harbour View at Ferdie Neita Park whereas third-place Tivoli will be aiming to put Sunday's Champions Cup loss to Boys' Town behind them when they square off with the Red Brigade, who are eyeing their spot from two behind in the standings in fourth place. Meanwhile, Arnett Gardens, Waterhouse and St Georges, fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively, with two points separating them, will be vying to finish among the top six. Arnett Gardens are on 44 points, two ahead of Waterhouse who are sixth on 42. St Georges are also on 42 points but have a minus-three goal difference to Arnett and Waterhouse's plus one. dangerous Rivoli United All three teams are on the road. Arnett travel to dangerous Rivoli United, Waterhouse are at Sporting Central and St Georges, although not hot on the road, faced with desperation, could spring a fast one on last-place Village. It's desperately close going in mid-table as although none of the three can be relegated if they end the third round below sixth spot, pride will ensure battle royals to stay in the top tier. Arnett could need only a draw at Rivoli whereas Waterhouse must win to secure sixth spot. St Georges' must be praying for Waterhouse to slip up to steal sixth spot. Anything other than that would require a big victory margin at Village to have an outside chance should all three end on 45 points. At the top of the standings, Portmore seem to be inching further away from Harbour View after each game, adding four points in their last two. Coach Donovan Hayles, whose Harbour View are without a win in four games, watched as his team had to twice rally from a goal down to draw 2-2 at Waterhouse in their last match. 'we need to improve' "I'm very concerned. We need to start hitting three-point games. Playing away from home it was difficult but we need to improve because it's two additional points to chase," he said. Harbour View will also have Tivoli to worry about with the west Kingston men now four points behind them. Tivoli Gardens skipped past Boys' Town on 54 to hold down third spot with 56 points after a 2-1 win at Sporting Central after the Red Brigade went down 1-0 at Portmore. Boys' Town clobbered Tivoli 3-0 to lift the Flow Champions Cup on Sunday at Arnett Gardens but with the likes of hot striker Navion Boyd back in their line-up with Steve Green, the tables could be turned in the Premiership.
