Man remanded for car theft |

|
A man accused of stealing a motor vehicle appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday. Charged with larceny of motor vehicle is Kevin Higgins of a St Mary address. It is alleged that on March 18, the vehicle identified as a Toyota motor car, valued at over $1 million, was stolen. spotted in vehicle Higgins, who claimed that he is from Halifax in the parish, was seen in the vehicle in the Kingston 6 area where he was pursued by the owner. Upon approaching the vehicle, the complainant said that a man ran from the passenger seat. However, Higgins was caught inside the vehicle behind the steering wheel and the police were alerted. The accused man denied being the driver of the vehicle and said he chartered the vehicle from someone. Higgins, who was remanded, should return to court on May 8. |
