Revenge killing in Westmoreland

A 33-year-old farmer who was accused of setting his girlfriend's house on fire was set upon and chopped to death by a mob at Porters Mountain, Westmoreland, on Saturday.

He has been identified as Donovan Vanhorne of Little London in the parish.

Police told THE STAR that about 9 a.m., the police were summoned to Porters Mountain where a mob was seen beating Vanhorne. Lawmen found Vanhorne on the roadway suffering from multiple chop wounds. He was taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital where he died.

Following investigations, it was discovered that Vanhorne was accused of setting his girlfriend's house on fire earlier in the morning and was beaten and killed in reprisal.
