A 21-year-old man, accused of breaking into a car and stealing two cellular phones, stunned the court when it was revealed that he had a pending shooting matter in the Circuit Court, as well as another simple larceny charge. The accused man, Winston Moore, who is charged with malicious destruction of property and simple larceny, is said to have broken into the complainant's car by smashing the window. It is alleged that two phones which were removed from the car were taken from his person. The investigating officer then told the court that Moore was out on bail for another simple larceny matter. Moore pleaded guilty to breaking into the car, but denied stealing the phones. When questioned about the shooting case, he told Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey, "Long time dat, Miss, from 2007." Although the complainant indicated that he no longer wanted to pursue the matter as the accused man's parents had indicated a willingness to fix the damage, RM Pusey decided to pursue the matter. Moore was remanded until May 27 when the case will be mentioned again. His fingerprints were also requested. |
