Ken's Wildflower pays tribute to fathers

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

The Ken's Wildflower Lounge will come alive on Sunday, June 14, in celebration of their annual Fathers' Day extravaganza entitled 'Colour him Father''.

The day will see fathers being special guests at the Wildflower Restaurant where, in addition to their meals, they will be offered a glass of sparkling wine.

"We decided to make fathers feel special once more, as they are not given due respect they should get, so we are doing our part here to change that,'' remarked Lester 'Ken' Crooks, proprietor of the lounge.

Crooks told THE PORTMORE STAR that in addition to the wine treat for fathers, an entertainment package would be on hand in the night.

He said the Wildflower Disco would entertain those who turn out for the occasion with specially invited selectors complementing the resident disc jockeys. ''This year Donovan Dacres, Crazy Kris, DJ Snow and company will bring the house down musically,'' Crooks said.

THE PORTMORE STAR spoke with men who said they were really looking forward to the activities. They also concurred with the view that there needed to be more attention to Fathers' Day activities.
