The coach accused of forcibly having anal sex with a 13-year-old athlete during the staging of the Boys and Girls' Champs was granted bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The accused man was charged with buggery and cruelty to a child. However, he denied the accusations.

The coach was given $250,000 bail with a surety and should return to court on August 20.

The accused man was given strict bail conditions by the court. He was ordered not to be seen within 100 feet of any educational facility or where children congregate. He was also ordered not to be seen anywhere near the complainant's home, school or place of worship.

It is alleged that the coach went into the hotel room of the complainant during the Issa/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletic Championships forced himself on to the teen and had anal sex with her.
