Rodwood shock leaders Watson Grove

Rodwood shocked leaders and previously undefeated Watson Grove 3-1 in a key match in the Senator Arthur Williams-sponsored Portmore Under-15 football league last Saturday.

The result meant that Cumberland, which got three points from their fixture from Hellshire United's no-show, take over the lead in the standings on goal difference. Both clubs are on 15 points.

With the win, Rodwood stayed in striking in distance of the leaders and are third on 13 points from five games Wanderers moved to 12 points from five games with a 2-0 win over Portmore Pines.

In another game of interest, Passagefort United got their season back on track with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Datoyna (nine) at the Passagefort playing field and are fifth with 10 points from six games Christian Pen edged Braeton United (three) 3-2 to jump to 10 points from six games.

Games on tomorrow: At Cumberland playing field - Wanderers vs Rodwood 1:30 p.m., Daytona vs Cumberland 3:30 p.m.; At Watson Grove playing field - Braeton United vs Watson Grove 1:30 p.m., Portmore Pines vs Westport 3:30 p.m.; At Passagefort playing field - Passagefort United vs Christian Pen 3:30 p.m.
