STUDENT PREGNANT FOR TEACHER? |

Teen taken from tutor's home in uniform Marlon Vickerman, Staff Reporter A 36-year-old part-time teacher at a popular Corporate Area-based all girls' high school is to be formally slapped with carnal abuse and other related charges today after being taken into custody yesterday for allegedly having a two-year long intimate relation with a student. The girl at the centre of the matter, now 17 years old, is also said to be pregnant THE STAR has learnt. Police sources told THE STAR that acting on information received, they went to the St Andrew home of the teacher yesterday where both the tutor and the young girl were present during school hours. The man, was subsequently taken into custody while the teen, who was clad in her school uniform, was taken to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) were she was examined. Sources further told the newspaper that the girl told investigators she was pregnant based on a 'home' pregnancy test she had done. Information reaching THE STAR is that the teacher has been in a relation with the teen since she was 15 years old. Investigators say the teacher, who offers his services at other institutions as well, is to be charged by the St Andrew North Police later today. |
