Electrician held with illegal gun |

A 35-year-old electrician of Walcott Avenue, Kingston 20, is now in police custody after an illegal pistol was found in his possession at Waltham Park Road, Kingston 11, on Sunday night. Police told THE STAR that about 11 p.m., a police team from the Mobile Reserve carried out an operation at a dance at Waltham Park Road. During the exercise, several persons were searched. A Walther PPK .380 semi-automatic pistol, serial number 012604, with eight rounds of ammunition, was taken from the waistband of one of the patrons. He was subsequently taken into custody. The Hunts Bay Police, who are investigating, is withholding the name of the man as he has not yet been charged. |
