The body of an unidentified man, believed to be in his early 20s, was found on a verandah at Rose Heights, Montego Bay, St James, on Monday.

The body is of slim build, dark complexion and about 175 centimetres long. It was clad in brown shorts, black jeans pants, black shoes and a blue and brown cap.

Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network's liaison officer for St James are that about 3 p.m., residents heard explosions, went to investigate and discovered the body of the man on the verandah.

The police examined the body and found that it had gunshot wounds. The crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.

The Mount Salem police are investigating.
